Vinted is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer for the Go Network domain. You will build scalable backend services that connect members, carrier partners, and pickup/drop-off locations within a growing logistics network.

You’ll own work from design through production in a cross-functional team, focusing on reliability, API design, and production-grade software while collaborating with product, data, and frontend/backend engineers.

• Proven backend engineering experience delivering reliable services.
• Strong Ruby and/or Go skills with ability to learn the Vinted stack.
• Solid understanding of API design, databases, observability, and production operations.
• Excellent written and spoken English.

Information about the position

As Senior Backend Engineer in the Vinted Go Network domain, you will build backend systems that help connect Vinted members, carrier partners, and pick-up/drop-off locations across a growing logistics network.
You’ll join Vinted Go, the logistics arm of Vinted, focused on making shipping more affordable, convenient, and reliable. The Network domain works on the foundations that make domestic and cross-border shipping possible: carrier integrations, route configurations, partner-facing workflows, tracking, service availability, and the systems that support new shipping products and services at scale.
You’ll work in a cross-functional, autonomous team with product managers, designers, backend and frontend engineers, quality engineers, and data colleagues. You’ll own work from design through production, make pragmatic technical decisions, and help evolve reliable backend services that support Vinted Go’s expanding network across markets.

In this position, you’ll

• Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs
• Own technical initiatives end to end, from problem framing and system design through delivery, monitoring, and iteration.
• Develop business logic and platform capabilities that help partners manage inventory, orders, and operations at scale.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, Decision Science, and other engineers to shape discovery, sequencing, and implementation.
• Work with a diverse backend stack, such as Ruby, Go, AWS, MySQL, Elasticsearch, Redis, and observability tools; you do not need to know all of it upfront.
• Write unit tests, contribute to integration and end-to-end testing, and keep quality high through code reviews and thoughtful feedback.
• Take ownership of service reliability, alerts, metrics, and incident follow-up, including participation in on-call rotations.
• Use AI tools thoughtfully to improve your development workflow and help the team move faster.

About you

• Strong backend engineering experience, with a track record of building reliable systems and owning work from design through production.
• Solid experience with Ruby and/or Go, or the ability and motivation to learn Vinted's backend stack quickly.
• Good understanding of API design, database-backed systems, observability, and operating services in production.
• Pragmatic problem solver who balances delivery speed, reliability, and long-term maintainability.
• Comfortable working with ambiguity and breaking complex product or operational problems into clear technical steps.
• Collaborative and clear communicator who works well with engineers, product managers, designers, and non-technical stakeholders.
• Enjoys sharing knowledge, mentoring others, and raising engineering standards through code reviews and technical discussions.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
• Advantage: experience with logistics, fulfilment, partner-facing platforms, or operational workflows.
