Job summary

Remora Robotics AS seeks a Senior Robotics Engineer to advance autonomy and computer vision for underwater robots operating at sea. You will own components from idea to deployment, working with a small team that collaborates with mechanical and electronics engineers to monitor and operate the fleet.

You should have several years of hands-on CV and robotics experience, strong C++/Python skills, and familiarity with ROS 2 or ArduPilot.

Qualifications

• Several years of hands-on experience with computer vision.
• Experience with state estimation, sensor fusion, autonomy, or control.
• Strong programming skills in C++ and Python.
• Experience with ROS 2, ArduPilot, or a similar framework.
• Degree in robotics, cybernetics, computer science, electrical engineering or a related field.
• Work on autonomous robots operating in the real world.

Responsibilities

• Computer vision in underwater conditions: visual odometry, mapping, and object detection and tracking.
• State estimation and navigation based on sensor fusion of camera, pressure sensor and IMU.
• Planning dynamic motion patterns in a constantly changing environment.
• Control systems for steering and maneuvering the robots.
• Taking solutions from prototype to stable operation across an entire fleet, including testing, logging, debugging and field updates.
