Job summary

Noroperation is seeking skilled rope access professionals for offshore assignments in Norway. You will perform rope access welding, repairs, and installation on rigs, vessels and fixed installations, while conducting NDT inspections (VT, MT, PT, UT) and ensuring safety protocols are followed.

Candidates should hold NS 9600 rope access levels 1–3 with expiry dates, plus a trade or welding/NDT certification and offshore safety credentials.

Qualifications

• Rope access NS 9600 levels 1–3 with expiry date required.
• Trade certificate or documented welder experience required.
• Welding certificate: state process and position (111, 135/136, 138, 141, 6G).
• NDT level 2 certification to EN ISO 9712: state method and expiry date.
• Basic safety and emergency training (GSK/BOSIET) and offshore medical certificate.
• Norwegian or English fluency for safety analyses and handovers.
• Legal right to work in Norway.

Responsibilities

• Welding, repair and installation work on rope, on fixed and floating installations, rigs and vessels
• NDT inspection on rope: VT, MT, PT and UT
• Inspection of structure, anodes, pipework and load-bearing elements where scaffolding is not practical
• Rigging of rope routes and anchor points, checking equipment and rescue readiness
• Prepare Safe Job Analyses and risk assessments before rope work and follow approved procedures
• Document and report work done to inspector, QA and client

Job description

What you will be doing

• – Welding, repair and installation work on rope, on fixed and floating installations, rigs and vessels
• – NDT inspection on rope: visual (VT), magnetic particle (MT), penetrant (PT) and ultrasonic (UT)
• – Inspection of structure, anodes, pipework and load-bearing elements where scaffolding is not practical
• – Rigging of rope routes and anchor points, checking your own equipment, and readiness for rescue
• – Safe job analysis and risk assessment before every rope job, working to approved procedure
• – Documenting and reporting the work carried out to the inspector, QA and client

What we require

• – Rope access certification to NS 9600 — level 1, 2 or 3. State level, issuing body and expiry date in your application. IRATA and SPRAT are assessed equivalently.
• – A trade certificate or documented experience as a welder or NDT operator. It is the combination of rope plus trade that we are looking for.
• – Welders: a valid welding certificate — state process and position (111, 135/136, 138, 141, 6G)
• – NDT operators: level 2 certification to EN ISO 9712 — state method, sector and expiry date
• – Basic safety and emergency preparedness training (GSK/BOSIET) and a valid offshore medical certificate
• – Norwegian or English, spoken and written — good enough for safe job analysis, permit meetings and shift handover
• – Valid identification and the legal right to work in Norway

An advantage if you have

• – Rope access level 2 or 3, or experience leading a rope team
• – Several NDT methods, or level 3 in one of them
• – Experience from yards, drilling rigs or floating production installations
• – Pressure and leak testing, flange work or bolt torquing
• – Scaffolding or rigging competence in addition to rope
• – Familiarity with the NORSOK standards and working under Norwegian oil and gas regulations
