Job summary

KONGSBERG in Horten, Norway, is seeking a Senior RF Engineer to join the RF & Microwave group, contributing to the development of high-reliability space electronics. With around 150 professionals on-site, the team covers concept to testing under one roof.

Design and develop RF and microwave circuits for space applications up to >70 GHz, perform measurements, design PCBs/MMICs, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and support qualification and testing per space industry standards.

Qualifications

• MSc or PhD in Electrical/Microwave Engineering or related field.
• Hands-on experience with RF lab equipment and measurement techniques.
• Proficiency in RF simulation tools (ADS, Genesys and/or 3D field simulations CST, HFSS).

Responsibilities

• Design and develop RF and microwave circuits and components for space applications, covering active and passive RF hardware from DC to >70 GHz
• Perform RF measurements, testing, and characterization of developed hardware
• Design PCBs, MMICs, filters, amplifiers, couplers, and other RF components
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including mechanical, technology, digital, and systems engineers
• Support qualification, verification, and testing activities in accordance with space industry standards

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Senior RF Engineer orRF Engineer to join our RF & Microwave group, contributing to the development of cutting-edge space electronics. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in microwave engineering and a passion for innovation in high-reliability environments.

What you will be doing

• Design and develop RF and microwave circuits and components for space applications, covering active and passive RF hardware from DC to >70 GHz
• Perform RF measurements, testing, and characterization of developed hardware
• Design PCBs, MMICs, filters, amplifiers, couplers, and other RF components
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including mechanical, technology, digital, and systems engineers
• Support qualification, verification, and testing activities in accordance with space industry standards

We think you should have

• MSc or PhD in Electrical/Microwave Engineering or related field
• Hands-on experience with RF lab equipment and measurement techniques
• Proficiency in RF simulation tools (Circuit simulators such as ADS, Genesys and/or 3D field simulations CST, HFSS, etc.)

It is benificial if you have

• Experience with space-qualified hardware and ECSS standards
• Familiarity with electrical schematic and PCB layout tools
• Experience with link budget analysis and system-level RF design

You are able to

• Work independently and in a structured manner
• Show initiative and contribute to a positive work environment
• Communicate clearly in English
