This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about education and enjoys helping students develop the digital confidence, skills, and problem‑solving abilities they need to succeed at university and in their future careers. While an interest in technology is important, this role is first and foremost about teaching, supporting learning, and making a positive difference to student outcomes.
Working closely with academic colleagues and professional service teams, you will design and deliver engaging learning opportunities that help students and staff make effective use of digital tools in academic and professional contexts. You will support the development of digital capability, information literacy, assistive technology, and emerging areas such as AI literacy, embedding these skills within the curriculum and wider student experience.
You will primarily support students studying Business and Computer & Data Science programmes, many of whom are international students undertaking professionally focused courses. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who enjoys working with diverse learners and helping students navigate new academic, digital, and professional expectations.
We are not looking for someone who already knows every system or application. We provide support and opportunities for development, so the ability to learn, adapt, and troubleshoot confidently is far more important than existing expertise in a particular technology. We are particularly interested in candidates who are curious about digital tools, enjoy exploring solutions to challenges, and can explain technical concepts in ways that are clear, practical, and accessible.
Alongside teaching workshops and tutorials, you will develop high‑quality digital learning resources, work collaboratively with colleagues to identify needs and improve support, and contribute to a culture of inclusive and effective digital learning across the University.
You will also have opportunities to contribute to wider University initiatives around inclusive education, accessibility, AI literacy, digital capability, and sustainable futures, alongside supported continuing professional development and professional engagement.
The application process asks a series of targeted questions to gather evidence of your experience of key criteria from the person specification. Your application will be read by a panel of humans, and not AI. You can use AI to support the grammar and clarity of your answers, but you must give answers that prioritise personalised, specific evidence from your experience.
Interviews for those shortlisted will be held online. You will have a micro‑teach on a specifies theme, and an interview. You will receive the micro‑teach brief, as well as a selection of the interview questions in advance to support your preparation. 2 interview questions are scenario‑based, so you will receive the scenario theme only. Further details will be provided if you are shortlisted for interview.
