Job summary

KONGSBERG Discovery is seeking a Department Manager R&D to lead the Positioning and Monitoring R&D team. You will guide 20–30 engineers across software, electronics, cybernetics, signal processing and mechanical design, ensuring staffing, development, and alignment with business priorities.

You will collaborate with Product Management, Sales and business units to deliver reliable, high-performance solutions for offshore and subsea applications, while fostering a culture of accountability and

Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Technology, Business, Economics, or related.

Responsibilities

Lead, develop, and inspire a multidisciplinary engineering team.
Build and maintain competencies for product development.
Ensure staffing and allocation of resources across development and maintenance projects.
Coach, support, and empower employees to reach their full potential.
Foster collaboration, accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Drive initiatives to improve R&D efficiency, quality, and performance.
Facilitate project reporting, resource planning, and budgeting processes.
Collaborate with Product Management to align development with business priorities.
Contribute as a member of the Business Unit Management Team.
