Job summary

Jotun is seeking an R&D Chemist for the Hull Performance Technology team in Sandefjord for a 12-month temporary role. You will perform hands-on R&D work to improve antifouling paint technologies and coatings, contributing to cleaner hull performance and lower emissions.

You will operate from our Sandefjord headquarters, executing assigned R&D activities, supporting team goals, and building competence through collaboration within a professional environment.

Qualifications

• Fluent in English – both spoken and written.
• Good communication skills, ability to cooperate and share knowledge.
• Curiosity and a strong desire to learn.

Responsibilities

• Be responsible for assigned projects, assets, or tasks and follow up with stakeholders to ensure quality and compliance with procedures.
• Execute required practical tasks in the lab, including planning, formulating, making paint, testing and evaluating results and raw materials.
• Report results both orally and in writing; provide advice and recommendations to support decisions.
• Contribute to defining and initiating new tasks and improve plans and execution within your area.
• Follow HSEQ procedures, safety equipment and documentation; maintain general safety.
• Attend to daily order so the workspace is tidy, safe and conducive to work.
