We are seeking to hire-in a competent, self-driven and committed person to take on the role as Purchaser at our office in Ålesund. The right person will be able to independently perform operational procurement processes, predominantly related to vessel operation.

What you will do

Are you a structured and responsible professional with experience in operational purchasing and logistics? Aker QRILL Company is seeking a Purchaser for our office in Ålesund. Purchaser will report to Procurement Manager Offshore.

This is an exciting opportunity for those who thrive in operational roles and seek development opportunities within a global growing company. Other responsibilities will be:

• Lead and perform operational procurement process with the aim to ensure high-quality from our suppliers as well as delivering commercial benefits for Aker QRILL Company.
• Daily procure-to-pay tasks in Fleet Management Software, including invoice handling and follow-up of deliveries.
• Ensure purchasing processes and logistics are efficient and align with company’s procedures and Fleet Sailing and Maintenance Schedule.
• Prequalification, Tender, supplier selection and contract negotiation.
• Coordinate flow of goods in logistics portal and oversee international logistics, including import and export operations, necessary documentations and return of goods.
• Contribute to development of contract standards, best practice sourcing methodology and process improvements.

Your profile

Qualifications:

• Bachelor in relevant discipline or documented experience in Procurement.
• 2–3 years of experience in operational purchasing, preferably from shipping, maritime, or logistics sectors.
• Strong understanding of international logistics and customs clearance.
• Excellent communication skills in both Norwegian and English, written and verbal.

About the Company

We develop ingredients for use in the aquaculture and animal feed markets, as well as deliver raw materials for production of human health supplements. Our value chain stretches from our vessels and sustainable krill harvesting operations in Antarctica, through our logistics hub in Montevideo, and all the way to customers around the world.

The Company operates a fleet of four vessels, including one cargo vessel and three fishing vessels, leading krill fishing within the Antarctic region. The three fishing vessels operate on the fishing grounds year-round, except for one month in October, which is dedicated to maintenance and repairs while the cargo vessel transports products and crew to and from the fishing grounds throughout the year.
