This position reports to the Business Manager Operations - Europe Secondary Gas Insulated Switchgear Europe

Your role and responsibilities:

We are currently hiring a senior leader to drive capacity expansion, enable successful new product introductions, and ensure operational excellence with focus on digitalization and customer satisfaction throughout our manufacturing facilities in Skien, Norway, and Prasznysz, Poland.

The position requires close collaboration with diverse teams, especially production management and R&D, and the ability to build strong relationships and assemble high-performing teams across geographical locations. You will lead approximately 50 dedicated professionals across both sites.

Key responsibilities:
  • Shape and execute the European manufacturing strategy in line with ABB’s global goals
  • Drive capacity planning, investments, and budget ownership (CAPEX/OPEX)
  • Lead digitalization and process improvements to support growth and efficiency
  • Oversee industrialization of new products and ensure quality, cost, and performance targets
  • Align cross-functional processes and infrastructure (e.g., IT systems)
  • Deliver on key milestones such as pilot series and technology transfers
  • Build and develop high-performing teams across locations
  • Promote continuous improvement and share best practices
  • Role includes travel and can be based in Skien, Norway, or Przasnysz, Poland
Qualifications for the role:
  • Master degree in industrial/mechanical engineering or equivalent experience
  • Solid leadership experience in manufacturing and/or engineering functions
  • Strategic, pragmatic, entrepreneurial and solution-oriented mindset
