Job summary

Nexans in Halden, Norway, invites a Process Engineer to join the High Voltage Training Centre to develop and standardize training for HV cable installation, ensuring competencies for global project teams.

You will work with trainers, engineers, quality specialists, installation and project teams to translate requirements into actionable training programs and documents, driving continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Process Engineering.
  • Experience from HV cable installation or related technical operations.
  • Understanding of process documentation, quality systems, HSE, and risk assessment.
  • Experience with training, competence development or technical qualification activities is an advantage.
  • Ability to support FMEA, root cause analysis, and process improvement initiatives.
  • Structured, practical, and solution-oriented working style.
  • Strong collaboration and communication across technical teams.
  • Good English communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain standardized training processes for HV cable installation.

  • Define tooling requirements, material flow, inspection methods, and documentation standards.
  • Participate in FMEA activities to identify risks and improve process robustness.
  • Support competence verification and qualification of trainees.
  • Ensure training facilities and technical equipment remain operational and fit for purpose.
  • Identify future equipment investment needs and supporting technical specifications for new equipment.
  • Collaborate with trainers, engineering teams, installation teams, quality functions, and project stakeholders.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Updating process documentation based on lessons learned and operational feedback.

WELCOMING YOU TO THE TEAM

We are looking for a Process Engineer to join our High Voltage Training Centre in Halden, Norway. You will become part of an important technical environment focused on developing and standardizing training processes for high-voltage cable installation, ensuring that our global project teams are equipped with the right competence to execute safely and successfully.

The High Voltage Training Centre plays a critical role in preparing personnel for field operations by transforming technical, quality, project, and HSE requirements into practical training programs, work instructions, and qualification methods.

In this role, you will collaborate closely with trainers, engineers, quality specialists, installation teams, and project organizations while supporting both operational excellence and continuous improvement initiatives. You will report directly to the Land Engineering Manager.

HOW YOU MAKE AN IMPACT

As a Process Engineer, you will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and continuously improving standardized training processes related to high-voltage cable installation activities. You will ensure that training programs accurately reflect real project execution requirements while supporting technical competence development and qualification processes.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Developing and maintaining standardized training processes for HV cable installation

YOUR STARTING POINT
