Job summary

Nexans Norway AS is seeking a Process Engineer for the High Voltage Training Centre in Halden, Norway. This role focuses on developing and standardizing training processes for high-voltage cable installation to equip global project teams with required competencies and ensure safe, successful execution.

Reporting to the Land Engineering Manager, you will collaborate with trainers, engineers, quality specialists, and project teams to drive continuous improvement, risk reduction, and compliance

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Process Engineering, or related technical discipline.
• Experience from high-voltage cable installation, jointing, termination, or similar technical operations.
• Understanding of process documentation, quality systems, HSE requirements, and risk assessment methodologies.
• Experience with training, competence development, or technical qualification activities is an advantage.
• Ability to support FMEA processes, root cause analysis, and process improvement initiatives.
• Structured, practical, and solution-oriented working style.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills across technical teams.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
• Good communication skills in English, both written and verbal.

Responsibilities

• Developing and maintaining standardized training processes for HV cable installation.
• Translating technical, quality, HSE, and project requirements into practical work instructions and training programs.
• Supporting development of training modules, technical exercises, and assessment methods.
• Defining tooling requirements, material flow, inspection methods, and documentation standards.
• Participating in FMEA activities to identify risks and improve process robustness.
• Supporting competence verification and qualification of trainees.
• Ensuring training facilities and technical equipment remain operational and fit for purpose.
• Identifying future equipment investment needs and supporting technical specifications for new equipment.
• Collaborating with trainers, engineering teams, installation teams, quality functions, and project stakeholders.
• Identifying and implementing continuous improvement opportunities.
• Updating process documentation based on lessons learned and operational feedback.

We are looking for a Process Engineer to join our High Voltage Training Centre in Halden, Norway. You will become part of an important technical environment focused on developing and standardizing training processes for high-voltage cable installation, ensuring that our global project teams are equipped with the right competence to execute safely and successfully.

The High Voltage Training Centre plays a critical role in preparing personnel for field operations by transforming technical, quality, project, and HSE requirements into practical training programs, work instructions, and qualification methods.

In this role, you will collaborate closely with trainers, engineers, quality specialists, installation teams, and project organizations while supporting both operational excellence and continuous improvement initiatives. You will report directly to the Land Engineering Manager.

How You Make An Impact

As a Process Engineer, you will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and continuously improving standardized training processes related to high-voltage cable installation activities. You will ensure that training programs accurately reflect real project execution requirements while supporting technical competence development and qualification processes.
