About the Role:

Join our dynamic Product Engineering team, a hub of expertise for all products delivered by NOV Eastern Hemisphere Engineering. As a Principal Robotics Engineer, you will lead the development and testing of innovative robotic solutions, contributing to both new and existing market offerings. Our team thrives on knowledge sharing, collaboration, and maintaining a high work ethic within a supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Lead prototype design and testing of new solutions at the NOV Test Center.
  2. Perform detailed mechanical design in compliance with NOV guidelines.
  3. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including electrical, hydraulic, structural calculation, controls, and technical safety experts.
  4. Prepare comprehensive project and product documentation.
  5. Engage in technical clarifications with workshops, subcontractors, and site teams.
  6. Stay informed about industry regulations and compliance requirements.

Qualifications And Skills

We seek enthusiastic and skilled professionals who excel both independently and in team settings. The ideal candidate will have:

  1. A bachelor's or master’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.
  2. Proven experience in mechanical design, including machine elements, tolerances, material selection, and welding.
  3. Strong understanding of construction methods.
  4. Proficiency in CAD systems (2D and 3D) such as Inventor, SolidWorks, NX, and AutoCAD.
  5. Excellent English and Norwegian communication skills.
  6. Strong collaboration skills and a creative mindset for developing innovative solutions.
  7. Experience in the oil and gas industry is preferred.
  8. Practical experience from workshop.
