ABS Group in Bergen, Norway, is seeking a Principal Engineer to oversee critical engineering design projects. The ideal candidate will have 15+ years of relevant experience and leadership capabilities. Responsibilities include project management, staff leadership, and client relationship management.
Candidates should possess a B.S. degree in Engineering and demonstrate skills in AI and robotics, as well as strong communication abilities. This role is vital for driving innovation in the marine and offshore industries.
The Engineer, Principal, Technology is responsible for normally planning, conducting and supervising engineering design reviews and analysis assignments involving larger, more critical projects or multiple projects. These projects by nature of their complexity and difficulty require the fully competent application of conventional knowledge in a particular field of engineering or scientific field. Project work and assignments may be broad in nature requiring ingenuity and cross functional coordination.
The following are new hire requirements for university graduates and experienced engineers from industry:
Experience in robotics and sensors including Virtual Reality and Mixed Reality Technologies (VR/MR) plus autonomous operations.
The incumbent will work closely with a senior level Manager with regards to day‑to‑day activities, as appropriate, such as status/scheduling of work, setting priorities, sales initiatives, etc. Direct reports to the incumbent will be members of the engineering or technical staff and office support staff.
