Capital One Canada is seeking a Principal Associate, Software Engineer for mobile to lead iOS feature development using SwiftUI and reactive patterns, driving Capital One Travel initiatives.

• Partner with Software Engineers, UX/UI, Product Owners/Analysts to deliver high performing customer experiences.
• Participate in all team agile ceremonies to ensure commitments are delivered on time and with quality.
• Mentor junior to mid-level team members and share best practices.
• Collaborate across disciplines (Android, iOS, APIs, Web) on major components and platform needs.

Your Responsibilities

• Spearhead the development of iOS features, with a focus on leveraging SwiftUI and reactive programming, to fulfill Capital One Travel objectives while adhering to cutting‑edge engineering best practices, design guidelines, and principles.
• Partner with fellow Software Engineers, UX/UI, Product Owners/Analysts to deliver high performing quality customer experiences that are engaging, purposeful and powerful in their simplicity
• Actively participate in all team agile ceremonies, contributing to ensure that all team commitments are delivered on time and of the highest quality
• Be an active advocate of the mobile platform through both internal and external developer communities
• Remain an active learner in all technologies related to mobile development (Swift, Kotlin, 3rd party libraries, etc.)
• Influence and contribute to group discussions and incorporate feedback/communication from the broader team
• Mentor junior to mid-level members of the team
• Actively engage with developers outside of the local sprint team across various disciplines (Android, iOS, APIs, Web, etc.)
• Own and lead delivery of major components and platform needs in partnership with senior engineers and Architects
• Consistently share best practices and improve processes within and across sprint teams
• Identify technical obstacles early and work closely with the team to find creative solutions
• Review pull requests and ensure adherence to Swift and other language idioms
• Grow and provide SME level leadership

Basic Qualifications

• At least 4 years of experience in software engineering
• At least 2 years of experience building iOS applications
• At least 2 years of experience with Swift

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's, Master’s or Diploma in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or in related field
• 3+ years of experience building iOS applications
• 3+ years of experience with Swift
• 1+ years of experience with SwiftUI
• 1+ years of experience in open source frameworks
• 1+ years of experience with Agile practices

The expected annual salary range for this position is

$148,120 - $169,050. This role is also eligible to earn performance-based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es). Incentives could be discretionary or non-discretionary depending on the plan.
