Job summary

10x Banking in London is seeking a Software Engineer to work on cloud-native distributed systems, focusing on Java/Spring Boot, Kafka, and AWS in a hybrid setup with remote-friendly practices.

Qualifications

• Solid Java software development skillset, Java 21+ and Spring Boot 3.x.x.
• Test-driven development mindset; write unit/integration/functional tests for web services.
• Experience with Kafka and event-driven architecture.
• SQL databases, strong PostgreSQL knowledge.
• CI/CD with Gradle/Maven; modern development lifecycle for distributed cloud microservices.
• RESTful APIs design and building; production-grade JVM microservices.
• Knowledge of Docker/Kubernetes/Helm; AWS cloud experience.
• Proven ability to work in Agile/Scrum teams; write clean, maintainable code.

About the role

As a Software Engineer at 10x, you are passionate about working with cutting-edge technologies, and bring deep technical knowledge and proven experience with data systems to deliver scalable solutions.

Ideally you will have

• Solid Java software development skillset, ideally utilisingJava 21 or higher and the Spring framework, in particular Spring Boot 3.x.x.
• A demonstrableTest-driven-developmentmindset, with good experience in writing unit, integration, and functional tests specifically for web services.
• Experience withKafka and event-driven architecture.
• Prior experience working with SQL databases, strong knowledge around PostgreSQL
• A keen interest in Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment, experience with build tools such as Gradle / Maven.
• A keen interest on development lifecycle process, best practices and operating distributed cloud-based microservices.
• Strong knowledge of designing and buildingRESTful APIs.
• Experience building and deploying production levelMicroservicesusingDocker / Kubernetes / Helm.
• Proven experience developing JVM-based microservices running in Kubernetes, and taking them through all stages of the development life cycle.
• Proven experience building cloud-based solutions using AWS.
• Applicable knowledge of event streaming technologies (e.g. Kafka).
• Excellent communication skills, solid work ethic, and a strong desire to write production-quality code
• Good experience of delivering software in an Agile manner, working as part of a Scrum team.
• You write high quality, clean code that’s reliable, maintainable and performant.
• You can assess the technical trade-offs and deliverables needed to create optimal solutions.
