Job summary

NTNU is seeking a researcher in computational high-content imaging analysis as part of the EP PerMed ERKetype project. You will develop reproducible, Python‑based analysis pipelines to process Cell Painting and other imaging data from cancer models, integrating with multi‑omics and clinical data for mechanism‑driven cancer insights.

The role is based at FlobakLab in Trondheim, with collaboration across NTNU, SINTEF Industry and international partners, contributing to publications and project

Qualifications

  • PhD or equivalent in a relevant field (bioinformatics, computational biology, biomedical engineering, image analysis, systems biology, cancer biology, biotechnology, computer science).
  • Documented experience with high‑content imaging or microscopy‑based data analysis.
  • Strong programming skills in Python for scientific data analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Analyse Cell Painting and high‑content imaging data from drug screens in cancer cell lines, patient‑derived organoids and tumouroids.
  • Develop reproducible image‑analysis workflows and Python pipelines for preprocessing, normalisation and statistics.
  • Extract and interpret morphological drug‑response signatures at single‑cell and population levels.
  • Contribute to linking imaging phenotypes with mechanistic modelling and other data modalities (omics, proteomics, clinical data).
  • Collaborate with SINTEF Industry and NTNU partners and share workflows and results.
  • Publish findings and contribute to consortium reports and milestones.
