Job summary

The University of Bergen invites applications for a full-time permanent researcher position within the Faculty of Medicine, Department of Clinical Science. The project focuses on Actin acetylation in cancer metastasis and preclinical model development, funded by external sources.

The successful candidate will develop xenograft models, perform pharmacology studies, and design novel immunotherapies, contributing to an international, collaborative research group.

Qualifications

  • Must hold a relevant Norwegian PhD or equivalent doctoral degree.
  • Experience in adoptive cell therapy with gamma delta T cells.
  • Experience in cell culture of alpha beta and gamma delta T, NK cells, primary cancer cells and PBMC isolation.
  • Experience in Seahorse Flux analysis, ADP/ATP bioluminescence assays, flow cytometry, xCELLigence real-time cytotoxicity assays.
  • Experience in ELISA, Western blot and siRNA electroporation.
  • Experience in counseling, teaching, writing manuscripts and preferably grant applications.
  • Personal skills: independent work, teamwork, motivation, and strong work capacity.
  • Fluency in written and oral English.
  • Experience with international collaboration is an advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Develop novel preclinical humanized patient derived xenograft models of cancer.
  • Run pharmacology studies of novel therapies, including cell based immunotherapeutics.
  • Develop and design novel cell based immunotherapies.
