Gapit Nordics is seeking an experienced Pre‑Sales Solutions Engineer to transform customer requirements into compliant, costed solutions for data centers or critical facilities.
You will own pre‑sales work from early assessment through proposal, working with Business Development and engineering teams to deliver buildable concepts.
Location:Drammen or Kongsberg, Norway
Positions:1
Gapit Nordics is looking for an experienced Pre-Sales Solutions Engineer with a strong technical background in design, engineering, industrial processes and control systems to strengthen our Business Development team.
We are looking for someone who can take a customer’s requirements and turn them into a clear, compliant and costable solution.
You may have worked with BMS, PMS/EPMS, SCADA, PLC-based systems, OT networks or critical infrastructure as a design engineer, systems integrator, automation engineer, solution architect or technical project lead. Ideally, you have hands‑on experience designing or delivering control and monitoring systems for data centers or other mission‑critical facilities.
You don’t necessarily need to have worked in pre‑sales before. What matters most is that you can read complex requirements, make sound technical judgements and develop complete, buildable solutions – and that you are comfortable presenting and defending them in front of customers.
As Pre‑Sales Solutions Engineer at Gapit, you will own the technical pre‑sales work for assigned opportunities, from early assessment through proposal and structured handover to delivery.
You will work at the intersection of customers, Business Development and our engineering disciplines.
This is not a quotation‑desk role. You will spend significant time with customer requirements, drawings and specifications, in technical workshops with customers and consultants, and with our engineering, software and commissioning teams, turning what the customer needs into a solution Gapit can deliver with confidence.
You should be comfortable walking into a design review with a data center operator or consulting engineer, working through their Employer’s Requirements and Basis of Design, and leaving with a clear picture of scope, interfaces, gaps and risks.
Commercial ownership, forecasting, final pricing approval, negotiation and contract sign‑off remain with the Head of Business Development. Your job is to make sure the solution behind the offer is right.

The ideal candidate combines engineering depth, structured thinking and commercial awareness.
Relevant backgrounds include:
Typically 3–4 or more years of relevant experience from design, engineering, systems integration, industrial automation, process control or technical project delivery is required.
A bachelor’s degree in automation, electrical engineering, process engineering, control engineering, systems engineering or a related discipline is preferred. Extensive relevant industry experience may compensate for formal education.
Experience producing technical scopes, Basis of Design documents, compliance responses, equipment selections, estimates and proposal input is highly relevant.
Experience from data centers or other mission‑critical facilities is particularly valuable, as is relevant vendor training or certification within automation, BMS, PMS, EPMS, networking or industrial cybersecurity.
Gapit develops software for monitoring, understanding and controlling critical data center infrastructure.
Our products bring together data from power, cooling, environmental and other technical systems to provide data center operators with a common environment for monitoring, visualization, analytics, alarm management, reporting and control.
Our ambition is to provide a single source of truth across critical infrastructure, giving customers access to the data they need to understand their facilities and make better operational decisions.
We are building products for an industry where software, automation, energy, data and critical infrastructure are becoming increasingly interconnected.
