Job summary

Head Energy Consulting AS seeks a Software Test Engineer to join the engineering team. You will develop test procedures and automated scripts, qualify software and embedded systems, and help ensure product quality across new and existing releases.

You will work closely with engineers, contribute to best practices, and lead ad hoc test efforts to drive reliability and efficiency in testing processes. English and Norwegian language skills are valued in this multinational setting.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree or equivalent in electronics, software, sensors, mechatronics or related field.
• Proven track record in testing and test methods.
• Ability to lead test efforts and guide others in SW test.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills in a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Develop procedures and methods to test and qualify functional product requirements and improve testing.
• Develop test procedures and automated scripts for units and systems; perform qualification tests.
• Qualify and test software, algorithms and embedded systems.
• Provide support and guidance to the engineering team and review colleagues' work.
• Build automated test tools to improve coverage and efficiency.
• Lead test teams or efforts on an ad hoc basis.

Job Description

• Experienced individual contributor that will work closely with the Engineering team. Main focus and work will be on new product development and product maintenance ensuring that our software releases maintain the right quality for customer expectations.
• Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
• Develop procedures and methods to test and qualify functional products requirements and continuously work to improve testing methods
• Develop test procedures and automated test scripts for units and systems. Perform qualifications test to verify functionality
• Qualify and test software, algorithms and embedded systems
• Be a resource for project manager and department managers in evaluating risks, timelines and challenges in projects.
• Undertake analysis and investigation to solve differing, but related, problems
• Give input and suggest improvements to company best practices and tools.
• Provide support and guidance to the engineering team
• Ensure software quality by testing new and existing implementations
• Build automated test tools to deliver smarter testing and better coverage.
• Review colleagues work.
• Technical contributor within team.
• Lead test teams / efforts on an ad hoc basis.

Qualifications

• Proven track record in testing and test methods
• Solid discipline competencies within testing and software
• Engineering Degree or Technical College within electronics, software, sensors, mechatronics or other relevant field. Lack of formal education may be compensated with relevant experience.
• ABillity to gain solid understanding of our core technologies.
• Abillity to lead test efforts and direct work on test activities utilizing personell less skilled in SW test
• This function requires interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to make engineering decisions and judgements.
• Has the functional and technical knowledge and skills to do the job at a high level of accomplishment.
• Must be able to work and perform in a multidisciplinary engineering team.
