Job summary

The University of Bergen invites applications for a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Department of Biomedicine within the Faculty of Medicine. The successful candidate will join the eHACS project, contributing to experimental evaluation of designed compounds and to crystal structure determination of protein–ligand complexes in a structure-based drug design framework.

Responsibilities include protein expression and purification, binding studies with label-free methods, enzymatic activity

Qualifications

• Experience with label-free biophysical methods (e.g. BLI, SPR, or GCI) to determine binding.
• Structure determination of protein-ligand complexes in a drug design context.
• Protein expression and purification of FabF, PanK, or NMT targets.

Responsibilities

• Express and purify proteins of interest.
• Determine ligand binding with label-free methods.
• Carry out enzyme activity assays.
• Determine crystal structures of target–ligand complexes.
• Analyze structures to inform compound design.
