Job summary

NTNU’s Department of Chemical Engineering (IKP) at the Faculty of Natural Sciences invites applications for a Postdoctoral Fellow in ion-exchange membranes and electrodialysis. The position is tied to BrinE-loop, a Horizon Europe project, with a 3-year employment period.

You will design, fabricate, functionalize and evaluate monovalent-selective membranes and contribute to integration in the BrinE-loop process.

Qualifications

• Doctoral degree in a closely related discipline.
• Strong experimental research background in membrane science and membrane-based separation.
• Very good oral and written communication in English.

Responsibilities

• Carry out high-quality, independent research within the BrinE-loop project on selective ion-exchange membranes and electrodialysis.
• Collaborate with project partners on membrane/process integration, modelling and optimization, and participate in consortium meetings and project reporting.
• Publish and disseminate results in high-quality scientific journals and at international conferences.
• Contribute to mentoring of students, research proposals and other career-promoting activities.
