Job summary

Starling Bank is seeking a mid-to-senior Information Security Architect to join our Security Architecture team in London. You will own cryptography roadmaps, drive crypto-agility, and shape secure cloud-native architectures across AWS/GCP.

You will collaborate with engineers, product, and security operations to perform threat modeling, reviews, and secure design reviews while mentoring teams and advancing our PQC readiness.

Qualifications

• Proven track record as Information Security Architect or Senior Security Engineer.
• Experience designing secure distributed systems in cloud environments (AWS/GCP).
• Strong knowledge of PQC standards and crypto agility.
• Experience in threat modeling and security governance.

Responsibilities

• Architect end-to-end security solutions for cloud-native apps and banking platforms.
• Develop and lead Post-Quantum Cryptography transition roadmap.
• Perform threat modeling and risk assessments.
• Define enterprise cryptographic management standards.
• Review RFCs/ADRs to ensure security guardrails and regulatory compliance.
• Mentor engineers on cryptographic implementations and data protection.
• Support daily security architecture activities.
