Job summary

Vestre Viken Ambulance Service is seeking a unit manager for Nesbyen and Noresund. The role combines leadership and hands-on ambulance operations, with 50% office time and 50% field work. The manager allocates shifts, ensures staffing per guidelines and reports to the section leader.

Physical presence as a manager is prioritized; remote work is exceptional. Expect travel within the catchment and participation in improvement projects while upholding a zero-harm safety culture.

Qualifications

  • Lead the unit's development and progress in accordance with the section's, department's, clinic's and enterprise's goals and strategies
  • Authorization as an ambulance worker, nurse or paramedic for the operative parts of the positions
  • Class B driving licence; class C1 driving licence and competence certificate for emergency driving for the operative parts of the positions
  • Leadership education is advantageous
  • Education in ambulance-related direction beyond trade certificate (fagbrev) is advantageous

Responsibilities

  • Lead the section's development and progress in accordance with the department's, clinic's and enterprise's goals and strategies
  • Personnel and performance responsibility in own unit
  • Responsible for ensuring that the ambulances are staffed at all times in accordance with the ambulance service's current guidelines
  • Follow-up of personnel, including competence development, follow-up of sick leave and care after demanding incidents
  • HSE and quality work, including handling synergy reports, leading incident reviews and participating in continuous improvement work
  • Project work
  • Each manager will have specific areas of responsibility for the entire ambulance service, in close dialogue with the competence section and the HSE and quality manager
  • Responsible for the upkeep of the vehicle fleet
  • Contribute to innovation and the use of new technology
  • Handle emergency preparedness incidents
  • Some travel internally within our catchment area must be expected

Job description

The Ambulance Service in Vestre Viken HF is establishing a new management structure with personnel and performance responsibility at level 5 in VVHF's organizational setup.

We are looking for someone who views leadership as a discipline, and who together with us will be a driving force to ensure the ambulance service delivers good health services and is an attractive workplace for our colleagues.

We are seeking a unit manager for:

Nesbyen and Noresund

As unit manager, 50% of the position shall be office time and 50% of the position will be as operational ambulance personnel. In both the managerial part and the operative part, working time is distributed across both stations. The manager is employed as locally surplus staff at the stations and manages allocation of shifts according to need. The section is led by Syver Normann Tveito.

Station setup and working hours may change as a result of the recruitment process. Physical presence as a manager is highly prioritised and working from home is offered only exceptionally.
