Job summary

Universitetet i Oslo invites applications for a PhD Research Fellow in Special Needs Education and Inclusive Practice. The position focuses on math skills and related cognitive aspects, with work at the Centre for Research on Special Needs Education and Inclusive Practice (SpedAims) under the Department of Special Needs Education, UiO.

The successful candidate will develop and validate assessment tools, collect and analyze data, and contribute to new studies.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or equivalent in Special needs education, Education, Psychology, Assessment and measurement or other relevant fields
• Master’s degree (120 ECTS) with a thesis of at least 30 ECTS, minimum grade B
• Bachelor’s degree with a minimum grade C (ECTS)
• For 5-year studies, average grade C or better first 3 years and B or better last 2 years; Master thesis graded B or higher
• Fluent oral and written English and Norwegian (or another Scandinavian language)

Responsibilities

• Develop and validate assessment tools for math difficulties within a research framework
• Collect and analyze data; contribute to study design
• Contribute to data collection and new study development
• Attend to the faculty's PhD program requirements and complete fellowship within the set period
• Engage with interdisciplinary research teams and collaborators
