Job summary

Western Norway University of Applied Sciences invites applications for a research fellow (PhD position) in Computer Science, within the PhD programme on Software Engineering, Sensor Networks and Engineering Computing. The position is for three years, with a possible one-year extension, based at Campus Bergen.

The project focuses on Grid computing and the JAliEn middleware, aiming to improve performance, stability and scheduling for large-scale data processing in the ALICE/CERN context.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in computer science or closely related field required.
• Quality of master’s thesis, with grade B or better (ECTS) preferred.
• Publications, research and teaching experience considered.

Responsibilities

• Carry out high-quality research and publish results in international venues.
• Collaborate with the JAliEn group at CERN and national/international partners.
