Job summary

Western Norway University of Applied Sciences (HVL) invites applications for a PhD research fellow position (3 years) in the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Action TUAI network. The successful candidate will join the Computer Science department in Bergen, working on AI techniques in heterogeneous distributed systems.

The project includes secondments to project partners in Poland, Norway and Italy, and emphasis on trust, privacy, reliability and energy efficiency in smart services and devices.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in computer science or closely related field (or in final stage).
• Solid grasp of object‑oriented programming (C++, Java, Kotlin, Swift).
• Interest in IoT, smart- and self-adaptive systems and their applications.

Responsibilities

• Develop a functioning platform integrating AI techniques into a heterogeneous computing paradigm.
• Evaluate performance parameters: privacy, reliability and energy consumption.
• Collaborate with staff, PhD candidates and master students and publish results.
