Job summary

NTNU's Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering in Trondheim invites applications for two PhD candidate positions within the SFI-CELECT centre. The roles are 3-year doctoral fellowships starting 2026/2027 and embedded in collaborative research with USN, UiA, DTU and industry partners.

Applicants will pursue advanced research in cross-functional NPD knowledge flows or DfM strategies, under NTNU supervision, with strong emphasis on digital tools, AI integration and industry

Qualifications

• Master's degree required in a relevant engineering or management field.
• Strong English skills for academic research and collaboration.
• Demonstrated ability to work in interdisciplinary teams and manage complex projects.

Responsibilities

• Complete the doctoral education within 3 years.
• Carry out high-quality research within the project framework.
• Publish scholarly articles in journals and conferences.
• Collaborate with NTNU, USN, UiA and industry partners.
• Engage in industry-as-laboratory research and international activities.
