Qualifications

  • Master’s degree or equivalent in physics, remote sensing, geosciences or related fields.
  • Fluency in English and ability to work in an international environment.
  • Experience with satellite remote sensing systems, preferably SAR for cryosphere work.
  • Strong programming skills (Python or MATLAB).
  • Strong background in statistics.
  • Fulfillment of admission requirements for the PhD programme.

Responsibilities

  • Investigate rain-on-snow events on sea ice using satellite data and in-situ observations.
  • Develop methods to detect ROS-induced melt and assess timing of spring melt onset.
  • Collaborate within an international research group and contribute to teaching duties as assigned.
