Qualifications

  • 3+ years of payroll experience in a medium to large organisation.
  • Strong knowledge of Norwegian payroll legislation, taxation, pensions and reporting.
  • End-to-end payroll processing experience with reconciliations.
  • Experience with Unit4 or similar payroll/ERP systems; Altinn reporting desirable.
  • Strong Excel and MS Office skills.

Payroll Analyst

Full-time | Fixed-Term (12 Months)

Sola (Stavanger), Norway

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Payroll Analyst to join our Finance team in Norway. Reporting to the Senior Financial Controller, EMEA, this role is responsible for the accurate, timely, and compliant delivery of end-to-end Norwegian payroll processes.

This is a 12-month fixed-term position, offering an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic international organisation and contribute to the delivery of critical payroll services within the Norwegian business.

Working closely with HR, Finance, employees, external payroll providers, and government authorities, you will ensure payroll operations comply with Norwegian legislation and company requirements while contributing to process improvements and operational excellence. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in supporting our employees and business operations in a dynamic international aviation environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare, process, and validate monthly Norwegian payroll ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with company policies and statutory requirements.
  • Manage statutory payroll reporting and submissions through Altinn and other relevant Norwegian authorities.
  • Ensure compliance with Norwegian payroll legislation, tax regulations, employment requirements, and collective agreements where applicable.
  • Perform monthly payroll-to-general ledger reconciliations and investigate and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Prepare payroll journals and support month-end and year-end financial close activities.
  • Reconcile payroll-related balance sheet accounts, remittances, pension contributions, taxes, and other statutory deductions.
  • Administer employee benefits, pension deductions, sick pay, leave payments, and other payroll-related transactions.
  • Maintain employee payroll master data and ensure payroll records are accurate, complete, and up to date.
  • Support internal and external audits by preparing documentation, reconciliations, and responding to audit queries.
  • Maintain and enhance payroll procedures, documentation, and internal controls to ensure compliance and operational effectiveness.
  • Ensure payroll data is handled in accordance with GDPR and company data privacy requirements, maintaining strict confidentiality of employee information.
  • Participate in payroll system testing, upgrades, implementations, and legislative updates impacting payroll processes.
  • Identify and implement opportunities for process improvements, automation, standardisation, and efficiency gains.
  • Build effective working relationships with HR, Finance, employees, system providers, and external stakeholders.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by responding to payroll-related enquiries accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Assist with annual payroll reporting, year-end reconciliations, and statutory reporting requirements.
  • Support business continuity by providing cross-training and coverage for payroll activities as required.
  • Undertake other duties and projects as and when required.
Qualifications, Skills & Attributes
Qualifications
  • 3+ years of payroll experience, preferably within a medium to large organisation.
  • Strong knowledge of Norwegian payroll legislation, taxation, pensions, sick pay, and statutory reporting requirements.
  • Experience managing end-to-end payroll processes and payroll reconciliations.
  • Experience with Unit4 or similar payroll/ERP systems; Altinn reporting experience is desirable.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications.
