Job summary

Florida Medical Clinic Tampa is seeking a Front Office Assistant to support ambulatory/physician office operations, including patient registration, telephone coverage, appointment scheduling, and patient referrals under supervision.

The role emphasizes accuracy, multitasking, and customer service in a busy practice, with training on practice management systems and adherence to policies. Benefits include tuition reimbursement, PSLF, and generous PTO.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Typing speed of approximately 30 wpm or ability to demonstrate competent use of practice management system.
• Knowledge of ICD & CPT.
• Two (2) years’ experience in a medical office environment.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to Orlando Health and department policies and standards.
• Handle multiple tasks, answer calls, take messages, file reports and medical records.
• Perform word processing and data entry in spreadsheets.
• Process charges and cash handling.
• Act as liaison between physician, patient and insurance for referrals/authorizations.
• Maintain regular attendance per policy and regulatory standards.
• Ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
• Assist office billing services as needed.
