Job summary

Lee County Athletic Park is seeking a Weekend Park Attendant to supervise on-site operations during weekend hours. You will be the primary contact for patrons, rental groups, and program participants, opening on Saturdays and Sundays and occasionally weekday evenings.

Responsibilities include enforcing rules, assisting visitors, performing light maintenance, reporting incidents to the supervisor, and closing the park securely at end of shift.

Qualifications

• Applicants must be 16 years of age or older.
• Must have or obtain CPR/First Aid Certification within six months of hire.
• NC SBI Electronic Fingerprinting, Criminal History Background Check, and pre-employment drug testing are required prior to employment.

General Description Of Work

The Lee County Athletic Park Weekend Attendant is responsible for on‑site supervision of Lee County Athletic Park during weekend park hours. The position serves as the primary point of contact for park patrons, rental groups, and recreation program participants. The attendant opens and closes the park on Saturdays and Sundays and may provide weekday evening support. Applicants must be dependable, punctual, and able to work weekends from 7:30 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. and occasional weekday evenings as needed. This individual must have excellent customer service and public relations skills.

The Weekend Park Attendant will report directly to the LCAP Parks Operation Supervisor.

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

Individuals in this role will serve as on‑site staff during weekday evening rentals, programs, and events. Responsibilities include monitoring and enforcing park rules, policies, and safety guidelines to ensure a safe and enjoyable environment for all visitors. Staff regularly walk through the park to observe activities, provide assistance as needed, and perform light maintenance tasks such as trash pickup and bag replacement. Patrons’ questions are addressed, and any issues or incidents are reported to the supervisor. The attendant is also responsible for closing and securing the park at the end of each shift and providing additional weekday support as required.
