Job summary

MDE Stavanger is seeking a Purchaser to manage purchase orders, screen markets for cost-effective suppliers, and prepare inquiries in close cooperation with engineering. You will perform commercial evaluations, monitor deliveries, and manage risks and invoices while ensuring compliance with guidelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Engineering or similar.
• Minimum 3 years' experience within supply chain management in Oil & Gas.
• You are commercially aware.
• You are professional and an independent team player.
• You have strong oral and written communication skills in both Norwegian and English.
• You are flexible and willing to adapt to changes.
• You engage positively with others and demonstrate collaboration skills.
• Experience with SAP is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Issue and follow-up on purchase orders with strong emphasis on cost reduction and value creation.
• Conduct market screening to identify cost-effective suppliers and solutions.
• Prepare inquiry documents for equipment and services in close cooperation with engineering.
• Perform commercial evaluations of quotations.
• Monitor and ensure delivery within the agreed timeframe, cost, and quality.
• Handle risks, deviations, and invoice processing.
• Ensure all activities comply with our guidelines, work instructions, and procedures.
• Continuously work on improvements to reduce internal and external risks and costs, enhance delivery quality, and strengthen collaboration.
