Job summary

NES Fircroft in Stord, Norway seeks an experienced Work Prep Engineer (EIT) for offshore hook-up projects. You will develop and maintain detailed work orders, including MHR estimates, drawings, procedures and MTOs, based on engineering work packs.

The role requires a technical education and at least five years in oil & gas, with familiarity of MC and commissioning processes and digital tools such as PIMS CMS/PIMS PES. Fluency in Norwegian and good written and spoken English are required.

Qualifications

• Technical education and/or engineering degree is required.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in oil & gas or related industry.
• Familiarity with MC and commissioning completion processes and digital tools.
• Strong ability to read and interpret drawings (P&IDs, ISO).
• Fluent in Norwegian, with good command of English.

Offshore Hook-Up Work Prep EIT

Contract period: 12.10.2026 - 30.04.2027

Location: Stord

Main tasks

• Work Order Preparation: Based on information provided in engineering work packs (EWP), the Work Prep Engineer shall develop and maintain detailed work orders in PIMS PES, including, but not limited to, man-hour (MHR) estimates, drawings, procedures, and material lists (MTO).
• Interface Management: Collaborate closely with engineering, planning, construction, and commissioning teams to ensure all prerequisites are met prior to job execution.
• Quality & HSSE Compliance: Review safety aspects of planned work, identify risks, and ensure compliance with HSSE requirements and project implementation models.
• Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to optimisework preparation processes and contribute to lessons learned.
• The position is preferably based on a regular work week, with some possibilitiesfor remote work when practical.

Qualifications

• Technical education (vocational or engineering degree) with a relevant trade certificate or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the oil & gas industry or a related industry, preferably within construction or commissioning.
• Familiarity with MC and commissioning completion processes and digital tools (e.g., PIMS CMS/PIMS PES).
• Strong understanding of drawings (P&IDs, ISO) and the ability to interpret technical documentation.
• Fluent in Norwegian, with a good command of English, both written and spoken.
