Job summary

Noble Drilling Norge AS seeks an Electronics Technician responsible for maintenance and repair of MODU electronic control and support systems onboard the rig. You will monitor and troubleshoot electronic systems to minimize downtime, oversee safety compliance, and assist the Technical Supervisor in maintenance procedures.

Required: 5+ years as an Electronics Technician on MODUs, recognized trade qualification, and strong troubleshooting and leadership abilities.

Qualifications

Recognized trade qualification from technical college/apprenticeship or equivalent preferred.
5+ years of demonstrated or documented experience as an Electronics Technician on a MODU.
Completion of all training requirements for the position within designated time period.
If working on DP Semi-submersibles, Flag State Maintenance Supervisor license is required.
Superior troubleshooting skills and techniques.
Complete understanding and use of the Noble Maintenance System.
Strong leadership skills and the ability to coach, motivate and mentor others to develop their skills and knowledge.
Strong written and verbal communication skills; the ability to understand and interact with diverse groups and operations and to recognize and resolve conflict.

Responsibilities

Install, maintain and repair all electronic equipment onboard the rig.
Ensure that all incomplete repairs and maintenance projects are finished in a safe manner, within the scheduled time frame, accurately, and efficiently to keep backlog to a minimum.
Ensure that equipment failure is kept to a minimum and within contractual limits.
Ensure entries on permits, isolation tags and logs reflect current status of equipment.
Perform regular inspections of work sites and ensure work is within permit terms.
Track programmable logic controllers and software versions and update as required.
Maintain a high standard of housekeeping onboard the rig.
Maintain good two-way communication with crew members.
Participate in the development of newly appointed team members.
Other duties as assigned.
If working on DP Semi-submersibles: manage the rig's maintenance system including creation, distribution, assignment and verification of planned corrective work orders.
