Job summary

BrainoTech IT Solutions in Trondheim is seeking an experienced Network Support Engineer to provide first- and second-line technical support, troubleshoot connectivity issues, and maintain reliable LAN/WAN infrastructure across distributed environments. You will configure devices, monitor performance, document configurations, and coordinate with IT teams, vendors, and customers.

Candidates should have 1–2 years in network support, hands-on routing/switching experience, and CCNA/CCNP or equivalent

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of experience in network support or IT infrastructure.
• Hands-on experience with routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless networking equipment.
• Good understanding of TCP/IP, VLANs, subnetting, DNS, DHCP, and network troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with routing and switching protocols such as BGP, OSPF, and EIGRP.
• Experience with LAN, WAN, WLAN, and network connectivity troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of network monitoring tools, ticketing systems, and technical documentation.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a technical support team.
• Willingness to work in shifts, including nights and weekends, if required.
• Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide first- and second-level support for LAN, WAN, WLAN, and network connectivity issues.
• Troubleshoot network devices, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
• Configure, install, and maintain network hardware and related infrastructure.
• Monitor network performance, identify faults, and implement corrective actions.
• Diagnose and resolve connectivity, routing, switching, and performance-related issues.
• Assist with network installations, upgrades, migrations, and hardware replacements.
• Maintain accurate documentation of network configurations, IP addresses, and troubleshooting activities.
• Escalate complex technical issues to higher-level support teams when required.
• Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and adhere to network security policies.
• Coordinate with internal IT teams, vendors, and customers to ensure timely issue resolution.
