Network Engineer – Secure On-site, Defence Systems

Job summary

Spektrum, an international consultancy supporting defence and government sectors, seeks a Systems Engineer for NATO JWC missions in Norway. You will design, implement, and maintain hybrid and federated networking, ensuring secure connectivity between on-premises and cloud environments.

Requirements include 2+ years as a Systems Engineer, experience with Cisco/Juniper/Fortinet, and proficiency in TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, and LAN/WAN. On-site work with occasional travel is required.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing & switching.
• Experience with Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet, or similar network hardware.
• Ability to configure firewalls, VPNs, WAPs, and network controllers.
• Familiarity with LAN/WAN, wireless, VoIP, and cloud networking.
• 2+ years of experience as a Systems Engineer (minimum).
• Required SLP level 333 (English)

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain hybrid and federated networking.
• Ensure secure connectivity between on-premises and cloud environments.
• Resilient and secure network architectures.
• Stable hybrid connectivity.
• Documented network and security configurations.
• Network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Wireshark).
• Firmware upgrades, configuration management, and performance dashboards.
