We perform various investigations to understand and obtain the various types and parameters of the soil for its better utilization.JOB DESCRIPTION: As an NDT Civil Technician, your primary responsibility is to ensure the structural integrity and safety of civil engineering projects through the application of non-destructive testing techniques. You will be tasked with inspecting various civil engineering structures, such as bridges, buildings, pipelines, dams, and other infrastructure, to detect defects, weaknesses, and anomalies that could compromise their performance and safety.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Conduct Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) procedures on civil engineering structures using various techniquesInterpret and evaluate test results to identify defects, discontinuities, and structural irregularities.
  • Prepare detailed reports documenting inspection findings, including the location and severity of defects, and recommend appropriate corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and construction teams to develop NDT inspection plans and schedules.
  • Maintain and calibrate NDT equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability during inspections.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and industry standards to mitigate risks associated with NDT procedures.
  • Stay updated on advancements in NDT technologies, techniques, and industry best practices.
  • Provide technical guidance and training to junior technicians or staff members as necessary.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory authorities regarding inspection findings, recommendations, and compliance with standards and regulations.
  • Participate in quality assurance/control initiatives to enhance the overall reliability and effectiveness of NDT procedures and practices.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
  • Certification in non-destructive testing (NDT) methods such as ASNT Level II or equivalent certification in UT, MPT, RT, VT, and/or other NDT techniques.
  • 1-2 years of experience in performing NDT inspections and evaluations in the civil engineering or construction industry.
  • Proficiency in operating NDT equipment, instrumentation, and software applications for data analysis and reporting.
  • Strong understanding of civil engineering principles, materials behavior, and structural mechanics.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of relevant codes, standards, and regulations governing NDT practices and quality assurance requirements.
  • Commitment to professional development and continuous learning in the field of NDT engineering.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
  • Advanced certification or training in specific NDT techniques or specialties.
  • Experience with advanced NDT methods such as phased array ultrasonic testing (PAUT) or eddy current testing (ECT).
  • Familiarity with structural analysis software and computer-aided design (CAD) tools.
  • Previous experience in bridge inspection, pipeline integrity assessment, or structural health monitoring.
