Job summary

University of Utah Health is seeking a patient-focused auxiliary worker to support licensed staff in delivering basic health care. You will prepare patients for examinations, assist with procedures, perform phlebotomy and EKGs, apply IV access, and handle routine clerical tasks.

Expect rotating shifts across a 24/7 health system. Prior MA/EMT experience and CPR/BLS training are preferred; an RQI eCredential must be obtained within 30 days of hire.

Qualifications

• EMT course or MA experience required.
• Medical assisting education or UH MA certification acceptable.
• Ability to perform essential patient-care tasks and operate related equipment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for examinations and procedures.
• Report patient concerns to licensed staff.
• Perform CLIA waived lab tests and report results.
• Assist with injections, catheterization, and medication administration as directed.
• Administer EKG/ultrasound under supervision.
• Support clerical tasks and patient transport as needed.
