Job summary

University of Utah Health seeks an assistive care team member to support licensed staff in delivering basic healthcare. You will help with patient preparation, phlebotomy, injections, and unit clerical tasks in a 24/7 health system.

The role involves working with patients and families, following infection control and safety protocols, and enabling smooth clinic operations through teamwork and adherence to procedures.

Qualifications

• Must obtain RQI eCredential within 30 days of hire.
• Active CMA, Paramedic, RMA, NCMA, NRCMA or ABR-OE credentials accepted.
• Ability to perform phlebotomy and basic patient care.

Responsibilities

• Prepares patients for examinations and procedures.
• Reports patient concerns to licensed staff.
• Performs CLIA waived labs and reports results.
• Administers injections and basic procedures as trained.
• Acts as chaperone during examinations and assists with procedures.
• Maintain examination rooms and restock supplies.
• Handle clerical tasks: filing, records, and scheduling.
• Complete mandatory education including infection control and CPR.
• May assist with phlebotomy and IV access as trained.
• Provide health information to patients and families.
• Assist with patient transport as needed.
• Work rotating shifts including weekends/nights/holidays.
