Job summary

Join our Orthopedics team in Norway as a per diem Medical Assistant!

MaineHealth Orthopedics in Norway is seeking a compassionate, detail-oriented Medical Assistant to join our team and help provide exceptional care to patients throughout their orthopedic journey. This is a great opportunity to work alongside orthopedic providers in a collaborative, fast-paced outpatient practice.

In this role, you will support providers with both clinical and administrative responsibilities, including rooming patients, obtaining vital signs and medical histories, preparing patients for examinations and procedures, assisting with orthopedic treatments, coordinating imaging and follow-up care, and maintaining accurate medical records. Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team are essential. Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities (KSAs)
  • Education: High School diploma or GED preferred. Must meet one of the following requirements: Graduated from an accredited vocational institution or community college in Medical Assisting with 160 hours of clinical experience completed; or completion of an Adult Education Medical Assistant program and 6 months of clinical experience in a practice setting; or 1 year of clinical experience in a multi-provider practice setting (equivalent experience will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis).
  • License/Certifications: Current AAMA, NHA, AMT, or NCCT certification required. (Prior to 5/01/25 MA IIs with 10 years MA experience and employed by MaineHealth as a MA in the most recent 5 years are exempt from certification requirement). Current BLS certification required or must obtain within 30 days of start date. Fully remote care team members are exempt from BLS certification requirement. A NH Med Tech License, or NH EMT and National Registry EMT license is required for those positions located in New Hampshire.
  • Experience: Six months of experience as a Medical Assistant or one year as a MaineHealth Clinical Team Assistant.

The pay range for this position is $21.09to $27.12 per hour.
