Job summary

Florida Medical Clinic is seeking a Medical Assistant for the Family Practice team in Lutz, FL. The role supports patient care under physician or APP supervision in an ambulatory setting and participates in data collection, exams preparation, and assisting with procedures.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent required.
• Successful completion of Medical Assistant training from an approved technical school (or verifiable applicable work experience in a patient care setting) required.
• Maintains current American Heart Association BLS Healthcare Provider Certification -and- must obtain one of the listed MA certifications within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Accountable to the Practice Manager for operational issues.
• Supports professional communication with patients and families.
• Gathers patient data through interviews and observation.
• Assists patients and families with preparation for examination.
• Assists the physician or APP during examination and procedures.
• Documents treatments, procedures, and patient education per policies.
• Acts as liaison to schedule specialty testing and consultations.
• Processes calls in a professional manner using sound clinical judgment.
