Job summary

TVF Media Inc. is seeking an experienced Media Production Senior Editor to lead our London-based team and collaborate from home.

The role centers on multi-camera editing of live debates at HowTheLightGetsIn and other major events, while mentoring editors and shaping post-production strategy. You will also drive social media campaigns, create festival trailers, and ensure top-tier quality for our streaming, YouTube, and podcast platforms.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2:1 degree from a top university (philosophy/science degrees preferred).
• Managerial or supervisory experience in a related media production role.
• Proactive and hard-working individual who is willing to learn and grow quickly.
• Extensive experience editing with Premiere Pro.
• Experience working in and managing a fast-paced environment.
• Experience managing or leading a creative or production team.
• Experience in graphic design, trailers, and/or adverts.
• Experience using cameras and multi-camera editing.
• Knowledge of social media video editing and formats.
• Experience of live-streaming events or videos.
• Experience managing schedules, budgets, and freelance/crew logistics (preferred, not essential).
• Experience with Adobe After Effects and Photoshop (preferred, not essential).

Responsibilities

• Oversee the Media Production team and multi-camera editing of live debates and talks.
• Mentor and develop editors, training junior staff in a professional workflow.
• Oversee social media marketing campaigns and production of festival trailers, thematic videos and podcasts.
• Provide strategic oversight and quality control for content across streaming, YouTube, podcast, and social channels.

Job description

The Institute of Art and Ideas is looking for an experienced and driven Media Production Senior Editor to help lead the team of our rapidly growing online media platform IAI.TV. Total Politics has called the IAI "Europe's answer to TED" and with weekly releases of debates, talks and podcasts - involving world leading thinkers, politicians, and scientists - we are well placed to help enrich the culture of online content. The IAI also runs the world’s largest philosophy and music festival, HowTheLightGetsIn.

As Media Production Senior Editor, you will help oversee the Media Production team, working from our offices in central London and from home. The role will be mainly focused on managing the multi-camera editing of live debates and talks filmed at HowTheLightGetsIn, as well as other high profile IAI events. You will mentor and develop a team of editors, ensuring high professional standards and helping to train junior staff in a professional workflow. You will also oversee social media marketing campaigns and the production of a wide range of material, from festival trailers to creative thematic videos and podcasts. You will be responsible for the strategic oversight and quality control of high-level online content for release on our streaming platform, our growing YouTube channel, our Podcast platform, and our social media profiles.

The successful candidate will be a key leader within the team at all of our upcoming online and live events, helping to drive the creation of new and exciting video content. The successful candidate must have experience working with cameras, as they will lead our film crew during the festival, managing camera operators at live events and overseeing crew schedules and kit hire. The role has great scope for further advancement, in particular in the fields of post-production strategy and live event production management.

Experience editing with Adobe Premiere Pro is necessary, along with proven managerial or supervisory experience in a related role.
