The Company

Our client delivers uncensored LIVE talk-radio for 18-35 year olds. Their programming is more edgy and mischievous than other talk-stations and is broadcast live and uncensored 24/7.

They broadcast programming that includes celebrity news, politics, sex and relationships, football, comedy, music, money, food, LGBT+ and much more. Their listening audience currently exceeds 1.5m.

The Role of Head of Social Media Marketing

Our client is seeking a dynamic and creative self-starter to spearhead the development and execution of their social media strategy. Collaborating with some of the best talent in world entertainment, both established and emerging, you will play a pivotal role in driving awareness and listenership of their radio station as they continue to grow.

The successful candidate will contribute to their growth by understanding the nuances of their audience, setting clear objectives and creating compelling, platform-specific content.

Your ideas for daily social content will epitomise the company’s tone and message. You will lead from the front, ideate and bring the team with you. Your ability to enthuse and manage a team will be important.

As a key team member, you'll lead the daily production of engaging video content, ensuring it aligns with trending news and resonates with their audience. You will be expected to leverage strong writing and editorial skills in order to create highly engaging and shareable content.

You'll take the lead in daily meetings with the radio production team to drive social initiatives, such as polls, competitions, and original video ideas.

  • Developing and leading the social strategy across all platforms, with a particular focus on organically growing their social channels.
  • Creating engaging, cutting-edge social content that their audience will want to share
  • Fostering an active and engaged social media community by interacting with their audience, responding to comments and messages.

MUST-HAVE Requirements for this Head of Social Media Marketing role
  • 4 years minimum experience in a social media agency or within the social media team in a similar content-driven media brand
  • Worked with paid social campaigns
  • Proven experience in growing social following and engagement
  • Experience in building and implementing social media strategies
  • Understanding of paid, earned and owned
  • Understanding of social analytics, able to compile reports for the wider team
  • In tune with celebrity UK and US popular culture (desirable)
  • Passionate about social media and emerging trends
  • An impeccable grasp of the English language, with accurate spelling, excellent writing skills and high attention to detail
  • Experience in writing and delivering compelling social content
  • Experience of shooting videos, editing them and posting them across socials
