Job description

At Izomax, we believe true innovation happens where technical excellence meets bold thinking. We are transforming the Oil & Gas industry by developing solutions that deliver unmatched reliability, efficiency, and safety — solutions that technical experts can stand behind.

We’re seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our specialist team in Stavanger. This is an opportunity to work at the forefront of mechanical design, system integrity, and operational excellence — contributing directly to the development of tools that redefine how shutdowns, turnarounds, and outages are managed.

YOUR ROLE

As part of our engineering team, you will operate across the full project lifecycle — from conceptual design and detailed engineering to fabrication, assembly, and field deployment. Your expertise will be essential in ensuring technical robustness, compliance with industry standards, and flawless execution under demanding conditions.

You will engage with suppliers, clients, and multi-disciplinary teams, providing technical expertise to deliver projects that meet the highest expectations for performance and reliability — both onshore and offshore.

KEY TECHNICAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Contribute to the detailed design and construction of mechanical tools and isolation systems based on your specific skill set and project needs.
  • Generate and review precise fabrication and engineering documentation.
  • Conduct fundamental and advanced engineering calculations to ensure design integrity.
  • Develop custom-engineered solutions to address project-specific technical challenges.
  • Provide engineering input for tenders, technical proposals, and operational planning.
  • Support procurement processes and supplier quality assurance.
  • Oversee assembly, testing, and quality control activities within the Izomax workshop.
  • Conduct technical site surveys and provide field engineering support.
  • Ensure strict compliance with HSE&Q requirements across all project phases.
  • Apply and uphold Izomax’s Core Values, with a clear focus on safety, performance, and technical integrity.

PROFESSIONAL PROFILE

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent technical discipline).
  • Proven engineering experience, ideally within Oil & Gas or other high-integrity industries.
  • Advanced technical problem-solving abilities and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Competency with Autodesk Inventor or equivalent 3D CAD platforms for precise design development.
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively across technical teams and stakeholders.
  • Ability to thrive in high-stakes environments requiring rigorous standards and innovative thinking.

WHAT IZOMAX OFFERS TECHNICAL EXPERTS

  • A position based in Stavanger, Norway — a global hub for engineering excellence in energy.
  • Competitive compensation and comprehensive insurance packages.
  • Direct collaboration with senior leadership and technical decision-makers.
  • Opportunities to work on pioneering solutions like AOGV — our industry-leading mechanical isolation system, designed to enable safe inspection, maintenance, and repairs without disrupting production.

At Izomax, technical expertise drives real-world impact. Our solutions enhance operational safety, maximize uptime, and protect asset integrity — all without compromising efficiency.
