Job summary

Wärtsilä Norway AS seeks a Mechanical Engineer for Gate Rudder projects, with preferred location Rubbestadneset, Norway or Gdynia, Poland; Netherlands and China are negotiable. The role focuses on Gate Rudder mechanical design and technical leadership within the Propellers & Transmission team.

You will lead mechanical efforts, create drawings, define BOM structures, and develop product expertise while supporting Sales and engineering bids with strong technical sketches.

Qualifications

• BSc or MSc in Marine or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent documented experience.
• Experience with Rudder systems will be considered an advantage.
• Experience with design, operations, installation, and/or maintenance of Wärtsilä products will be considered an advantage.
• Strong technical reporting and technical problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and provide technical support to Gate Rudder projects within Engineering.

We are looking for aMechanical Engineer with a main responsibility in Gate Rudder mechanical design. The preferred location for this position is Rubbestadneset, Norway or Gdynia, Poland but also Netherlands and China are negotiable.

Your role and responsibilities

As a Mechanical Engineer Gate Rudder your work will include leading and providing technical support to Gate Rudder projects within Engineering The tasks can also be adjusted based on your individual skills and interests your individual skills and workload requirements. You’ll be working as a part of a competitive [Propeller & Transmission Customer Delivery Engineering] team with diverse expertise.

Your work will focus on these responsibilities:

• Define BOM structure
• Drawing creation
• Develop internal mechanical expertise in the products
• Contribute to the product development of Gate Rudder
• Support Sales, Sales Engineering and/or Customer Solution Engineering to provide best technical bid and engineering sketching

To be able to succeed in the position, we expect you to have:

• BSc or MSc in Marine or Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent (documented relevant experience can compensate for lack of relevant education).
• Experience with Rudder systems will be considered an advantage
• Experience with design, operations, installation, and/or maintenance of Wärtsilä products will be considered an advantage.
