Job summary

Wärtsilä is seeking a Mechanical Engineer Gate Rudder to lead and provide technical support for Gate Rudder projects within Engineering. The preferred location for this position is Rubbestadneset, Norway or Gdynia, Poland, but also Netherlands and China are negotiable.

You will define BOM structures, create drawings, contribute to product development, and support Sales Engineering to deliver the best technical bids.

Qualifications

• BSc or MSc in Marine or Mechanical Engineering (or demonstrated equivalent).
• Experience with Rudder systems is advantageous.
• Experience with design, operations, installation and/or maintenance of Wärtsilä products is advantageous.
• Team player qualities with excellent cooperation skills.
• Structured, analytical, proactive and flexible way of working.
• Strong technical reporting and problem-solving skills.
• Customer-focused and service-oriented attitude.

Responsibilities

• Define BOM structure.
• Drawing creation.
• Develop internal mechanical expertise in the products.
• Contribute to the product development of Gate Rudder.
• Support Sales, Sales Engineering and/or Customer Solution Engineering to provide best technical bid and engineering sketching.
