Job description

An incredible opportunity awaits you as Mechanical Engineer. In this role, you will be an integral part of our dynamic engineering team in Global Customer Support, delivering essential services for our business.

Global Customer Support (GCS) is a division responsible for Kongsberg Maritimes services, upgrades, and support in the aftermarket. GCS Thrusters is a business unit in Global Customer Support, handling the aftermarket of KM’s Thrusters portfolio.

As a Mechanical Engineer, you will be a key part of the GCS Thrusters Technical Support and Engineering team in Ulsteinvik, Norway. Your responsibilities will include providing technical support to other teams and departments within GCS Thrusters, ensuring that engineering-related issues are resolved efficiently. You will also offer sales support on our propulsion product portfolio, helping to ensure smooth delivery to customers. Additionally, you will be responsible for creating and maintaining detailed technical documentation, ensuring that all designs, processes, and support materials are accurately recorded and easily accessible. You will interact with various teams and contribute to the overall success of our engineering projects.

Please note that applicants will be evaluated on an ongoing basis. This being said, due to the Norwegian summer vacation period, candidates may also be reached out to after this time (August and onwards).

What You Will Be Doing

  • Design and validate design solutions to meet requirements and safety levels
  • Take technical responsibility for deliverables in assigned projects
  • Provide technical sales support across teams and departments
  • Offer technical support within the propulsion product portfolio
  • Create and maintain technical documentation

We Think You Should Have

  • Preferably a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering
  • Experience from the maritime industry in beneficial but not required
  • Preferably knowledge of Siemens NX and Teamcenter or equivalent PLM and CAD software
  • Experience in supporting cross-functional teams
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in English and Norwegian
