About the job

Working within the Marine Division in the Nordic Sales Company, with its team members being located across the Nordic region, the Market Area Manager for Marine Capital Sales is responsible for leading, managing & developing a team of sales account managers and project engineers, delivering success and growth of our business for capital sales products towards shipyards, system builders, complex retrofit projects and government sales.

The role includes varied responsibilities reflecting Alfa Laval's wide range of products and solutions.

Key tasks
  • Lead the team of sales experts and project engineers to meet division targets for sales & profitability.
  • Continuously improve work processes and quality standards, ensuring excellence in the sales process.
  • Develop, motivate and coach the team to build the right skills, structure and expertise to meet customer expectations.
  • Set standards of excellence for use of tools, processes and resources, while implementing future systems as needed.
  • Conduct market and customer analysis, define business potential and create sales & business plans, including forecasts.
  • Be the primary point of contact for the Central BU capital sales organisation.
  • Drive proactive sales of products and retrofit projects, and participate in key customer meetings as required.
  • Maintain, build, and grow relationships with key customers, partners and industry bodies.
What you know

To succeed in this position, you have:

  • Proven sales performance in combination with managerial experience within a B2B environment.
  • Excellent English written and verbal communication is a pre-requisite. Other European or Scandinavian languages are a strong advantage.
  • A high level of digital competence, not only with Microsoft Office programs, but also with other communication and collaboration tools.
  • Commercial or Merchant Marine industry knowledge or experience is an advantage, as is knowledge of equipment relevant to the marine industry.
  • Due to the nature of the role, the ability & eligibility to travel within the Nordics and Europe at short notice without travel restrictions is a requirement.
Location

The successful candidate can be located in any of the countries in the Nordic sales company region, with a preference for Norway or Denmark.
