Job Description

As a Manager- Business Development you would be a part of the Business Development & M&A team involved in all growth activities in India with a focus on M&A transactions across solar, wind, hydro sectors as well as emerging areas like storage & green hydrogen.

Your main responsibilities:

M&A focused business development

  • Carrying out business development activities in renewable power with a focus on M&A.
  • Evaluate a variety of investment opportunities in the Indian renewable energy sector.
  • Assist in building, reviewing and updating detailed financial models, considering industry and project-based assumptions, perform cash flow, profitability & valuation analysis including DCF.
  • Lead & coordinate the due diligence process and review the diligence reports to ensure that the key diligence findings are addressed appropriately in risks/return.
  • Assist in engaging advisors and carrying out third-party due diligence (finance/tax, market, technical, legal, accounting, land, regulatory, environmental, etc).
  • Prepare investment notes & presentations for internal committees/senior management.

Strategy and business planning

  • Participate in discussions with management teams, coordinate with internal groups and management to monitor all ongoing business development activities.
  • Understand and track industry & market developments, new projects & business models, new technologies (including storage), competitive activity, strategy, regulatory & policy developments.
  • Contribute to the company’s business strategy in India based on industry and market development.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies across the business development cycle.

Qualifications

We look for experienced personnel with the essential skills to future-proof our business and renewable energy solutions. That includes:

  • Postgraduate degree such as MBA from leading Indian or global institution or CFA or CA.
  • 2 to 8 years of professional experience in investment banking, M&A focused consulting, corporate M&A teams with a focus on the Indian renewable energy sector.
  • Extensive working knowledge of MS Office applications.
  • Experience operating and navigating in a multi-cultural and multi-country environment.
  • Result-oriented professional with strong analytical skills, highly motivated, ability to work independently and contribute to a team.
  • Ability to communicate with stakeholders (internal & external) independently on assumptions, approach, clarifications and expected output.
  • Ability to influence subject matter experts across a wide range of issues relating to energy markets in general and specific projects.
  • Strong oral & written communication skills with the ability to present results clearly.
  • High integrity and commitment to enhancing the company’s overall success.
  • Open to and comfortable with constantly evolving and changing priorities and new challenges.
  • Willing to travel, flexible and dynamic.
