Executive Connect Qatar is seeking a Librarian to join our team in Svalbard as a Cataloger and Research Specialist. The role focuses on organizing and cataloging materials, enabling strong research assistance for patrons, and promoting library resources.

The position is full-time, 40 hours per week, with no accommodation provided. Salary is $900 per month, and the candidate will work on-site in a unique Arctic environment.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field (Master's degree preferred).
• Minimum of 2 years of library experience.
• Knowledge of MARC, AACR2, RDA cataloging standards.
• Strong research skills and familiarity with databases and online resources.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Attention to detail and organizational skills.

Aufgaben

• Organize and catalog materials using standard classification systems.
• Maintain accurate records of all library materials.
• Assist patrons with research inquiries and provide reference services.
• Promote library resources through outreach programs and events.
• Collaborate with other librarians to develop and implement new programs and services.
• Stay up-to-date with new technologies and trends in the library field.
• Manage interlibrary loan requests from other libraries.
• Train and supervise library assistants or volunteers.
